popularly known as R L Stine alias Jovial Bob Stine is a popular author who entertains millions through his books intended for children and young teens. R L Stine admirers lovingly regard him as the Stephen King of children’s literature. R L Stine’s popular works include the Rotten School, Goosebumps, The Nightmare Room, Mostly Ghostly and Fear Street.

R L Stine was born on the 8th of October 1943 at B

exley in the American state of Ohio. His father was a shipping clerk and his mother was a homemaker. R L Stine started writing early in his life. At the age of nine R L Stine found a typewriter on the top floor of his house which he used to create a joke book and a few stories which are still popular. In 1965 R L Stine received his graduation degree from Ohio State University and then relocated to New York City with the intention of becoming a professional writer. R L Stine wrote a number of books enumerating jokes for kids under the brand name Bob Trudis and also published the humour magazine Bananas.

rrator and co-creator of the Eureeka’s Castle series a television show for children by the Nickelodeon Network aired during 1989 to 95. This series had reserved broadcast timings on the network known as Nick Jr. In 1990 R L Stine joined the parachute press and wrote Fear Street, a series of popular teen horror books. Soon the books had the distinction of being the best selling young adult series of the nation. After two years, during 1992 R L Stine, in collaboration with Parachute launched Goosebumps a book that played an instrumental role in bestowing it’s author an International identity. In 1995 Stine released his one and only novel for adults, titled Superstitious. R L Stine occupied the number one position for three consecutive years in the list of best selling author in his category as per the list publis

R L Stine has received numerous awards and recognition for his work; some of the notable ones are the 2002 Champion of Reading Award presented by the Free Public Library of Philadelphia, the Kids Choice Award for Best Book-Mystery/Horror presented by Disney Adventures and the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. In 2003 R L Stine had the distinction of getting listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the best-selling author of a children’s book series ever born. R L Stine was an ardent soccer fan during his elementary school days. R L Stine was known in Ohio as “Jovial Bob” during his tenure as editor of the campus humour magazine titled The Sundial. In the year 1969 R L Stine married Jane Waldhorn who later adopted the profession of editor and writer and eventually founded” Parachute” in collaboration with a business partner.
