popularly known as R L Stine alias Jovial Bob Stine is a popular author who entertains millions through his books intended for children and young teens. R L Stine admirers lovingly regard him as the Stephen King of children’s literature. R L Stine’s popular works include the Rotten School, Goosebumps, The Nightmare Room, Mostly Ghostly and Fear Street.

exley in the American state of Ohio. His father was a shipping clerk and his mother was a homemaker. R L Stine started writing early in his life. At the age of nine R L Stine found a typewriter on the top floor of his house which he used to create a joke book and a few stories which are still popular. In 1965 R L Stine received his graduation degree from Ohio State University and then relocated to New York City with the intention of becoming a professional writer. R L Stine wrote a number of books enumerating jokes for kids under the brand name Bob Trudis and also published the humour magazine Bananas.

Soon the books had the distinction of being the best selling young adult series of the nation. After two years, during 1992 R L Stine, in collaboration with Parachute launched Goosebumps a book that played an instrumental role in bestowing it’s author an International identity. In 1995 Stine released his one and only novel for adults, titled Superstitious. R L Stine was an ardent soccer fan during his elementary school days. R L Stine was known in Ohio as “Jovial Bob” during his tenure as editor of the campus humour magazine titled The Sundial. In the year 1969 R L Stine married Jane Waldhorn who later adopted the profession of editor and writer and eventually founded” Parachute” in collaboration with a business partner.
